Yoga

The word Yoga is derived from the Sanskrit root yuj meaning ‘to unite’.

Come along on Fridays for our suitable for all levels Vinyasa.

Vinyasa, also known as ‘flow’ yoga is a dynamic style of yoga that emphasises breath synchronised movement. The term comes from the Sanskrit words Vi (in a special way) and Nyasa (to place) reflecting the way in which the breath acts as an anchor for a continuous rhythmic flow.

Indian Head Massage

Using oils specific to your needs, Indian Head Massage is based in the Ayurvedic system of healing which has been practiced in India for thousands of years. It includes a variety of techniques such as acupressure, massage and stretching movements to stimulate energy points and encourage lymph movement and toxin release. The movements improve oxygen flow to the brain reducing stress, fatigue and renews mental clarity and focus. Head Massage also boosts circulation in the head increasing red blood cell generation which nourishes hair follices and helps hair loss or hair thinning.

Indian Head Massage is not only rooted in physical wellbeing, it works holistically on a psychological, emotional and spiritual level to help bring balance to the individual. This is done by increasing the body’s production of serotonin, a chemical that elevates mood and reduces psychological stress, helping release tension and congestion throughout the body to facilitate improved neural communication which benefits the endocrine, immune and nervous systems.

In India’s Ayurveda system of medicine there are 107 marma points (a point on the body where two or more different types of tissue meet such as vein, muscle, ligament, joint or bone), with 25 on the head and neck alone which is why an Indian Head Massage stimulating these points is considered to be very effective in enhancing the flow of vital life force energy (termed prana in India, and very much like the concept of chi in Traditional Chinese Medicine).

Indian Head Massage has something to benefit everyone. Please feel free to message me to discuss your needs before booking.
